Gerolt's Masterworks: Yagrush

From blacksmithing to carpentry to weaving, all these arts and more were mastered by Gerolt, the renowned artisan whose name once echoed through the halls of every workshop in Eorzea.

None could match his sense for form and function, his creations earning the acclaim of disciples of war and magic across the realm. All who sought the finest tools of their chosen profession had eyes only for those fashioned by his masterful hands.

But alas, the master would lose himself to the thralls of liquor, his legend left to sink to the bottom of his drinking glass. As years passed, his extant creations grew all the more valuable for their rarity, artifacts highly sought by the wealthiest collectors in the realm. And yet in recent days, an ever-increasing number of arms seemingly forged by his hand have surfaced. Could this be a sign of Gerolt's return, or merely the work of a forger who would shamelessly exploit the master's name for his own ill gain?

Rowena, the maven of munitions at Revenant's Toll, espouses that proof of an item's authenticity can be found in Gerolt's signature─the mark of Rhalgr, breaker of worlds─and indeed, the master's fervor for the god of destruction in his early years is widely known. Those who would possess true power would do well to seek those artifacts that bear this mark.

Now, it's Strawberry's turn to take Gerolt up on his creations, and test out his mythical Yagrush!

Unlike the Relic or Zodiac quests, obtaining a Masterworks weapon is much easier, if you are lucky!

For once, I was! First, I needed to save up a new form of Tokens that cost 150 Allagan Tomestones of Solidarity. Being capped at 450 tomestones a week means this first stage took 3 weeks!

Next, I needed an Unidentified Allagan Tomestone! These drop from the Second Coil of Bahamut and as of patch 2.3, sometimes Syrcus Tower after the final boss. On my first ever Syrcus Tower run, one dropped and I managed to win with a lot of 98!

With the tokens and tomestone under my belt, Strawberry traded both in for a Weathered Yagrush. In order to restore the weapon to its former glory, Strawberry needed to find some Sands of Time!

Again, this used to only be obtainable through The Second Coil, until The Hunt was introduced! After saving up 750 marks, I managed to simply purchase one and finally unlock Yagrush's true potential!

What a month! White Mage is the first job to obtain an ilvl110 weapon with Monk very close behind... more on that later!

Thanks for reading!
