Builder of the Realm

I finally did it! All Disciple of the Hand classes to 50!

So far I have fully melded my Goldsmith, Weaver and Leatherworker in order to make ilvl 70★★ items. I am going to wait and see which crafts benefit the most from making housing furniture in patch 2.1 before melding a fourth, but for now, it's time for a roll call!

Builders, assemble!

Goldsmith!

Weaver!

Leatherworker!

Carpenter!

Blacksmith!

Armorer!

Alchemist!

Culinarian!

Thanks for reading, see you in the new year!

File That Under ...Whatever.

Blacksmith 50!

It's almost Christmas, so I might not be able to play for a while! In preparation for my return after patch 2.1, I levelled up the last two Disciple of the Hand jobs (why do I keep saying it like that?) to 50 via a fresh set of fully-charged levequests!

Having every other class at 50 already (including my saving grace Leatherworker), gathering the additional materials for each of the synths was a breeze. I had stacks of aldgoat and boar leather just waiting to be used up! I can now finally make cobalt rivets and darksteel nuggets, which seem to always find their way into every other class's synths.

But wait, there's more!

Armorer 50!

Technically Armourer, if you use the correct version of English like I do (sorry, Americans). This was the final - and actually the most painful - crafting class to level to 50. Despite sharing a lot of ingredients with Blacksmith, it requires much more quantities of ores and ingots to turn into sheets, rings, or rivets. Those things don't come cheap!

Luckily, having Miner at 50 to gather things like cobalt and mythril saved a lot of money, and after attaining level 50 on both of these classes, I had actually turned a profit! For anyone who wants to take all crafts up to 50, I really recommend you do the boring part first and level both Botanist and Miner to 50, your wallet will seriously thank you later!

Out of the two classes, ARM's quest was much more interesting. Although, what felt like another "competition to see who is the best craftsman" - much like Leatherworker - it suddenly ended with a really epic twist! I won't spoil it for you!

See you next time, space cowboy! Pew pew!

'Till Sea Swallows All!

Having hit the Grand Company seal and rank cap with my beloved Immortal Flames, I decided to switch allegiance and help out another nation in need! 'Till sea swallows all!

Limsa Lominsa is such a beautiful place to explore. You can run in and out of docked ships, visit loads of port towns for cheap, adventure around the haunted Umbra Isles and visit the yet-to-be-implemented PvP area - The Wolves Den. But enough sightseeing, here's how I (once again) reached the maximum rank in a little under a week!

Firstly, after switching allegiance, you are allowed to start completing your Grand Company's Hunting Log as soon as possible. Completing the first page of this will gain you two full promotions with some left over seals to boot! Don't forget, the only dungeon you need to explore is Halatali.

In order to unlock the second page of the Hunting Log, I used a bunch of my crafts and completed the daily provisioning and supply missions. Handing in High Quality items at level 50 nets around 550+ seals per item, and after a day or two of doing that, I head reached the second tier of ranks.

The second page of the Hunting log, much like the first, is very easy to conquer at level 50. Most of the enemies range from levels 30-45, and the only dungeon you need to enter is the Sunken Temple of Qarn. Completing this page of the log promotes you one full rank, and opens up two more dungeon quests - Dzemael Darkhold and Aurum Vale - each rewarding over 1,300 seals per completion! PROMOTIONS!

After some more daily supply and provisioning quests, the final promotion cost 9,000 seals and opened up the third and final page of the Hunting Log, which included one last trip (heh, as if!) to The Wanderer's Palace. This final page nets a staggering 14,410 seals in total, which is enough for the Lominsan Crested Chocobo Barding, and leaves you with over 6,000 seals to spare!

Lastly, as with all Grand Company Hunting Log completions, you can unlock a special Grand Company Mammet via the Achievement Unlocker NPC in Gridania!

I wouldn't be lying if I said this was the reason I switched nations! Just one more to go!

For now, I think I'll stick around in Limsa Lominsa for a while. Perhaps build up some more seals, grab another Chocobo minion, work on my Blacksmith and Armourer, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery!

Thanks for reading - see you next time!

A Relic Reborn: Thyrus II

After 3 weeks of grinding Wanderer's Palace, and with the new Crystal Tower dungeon just two weeks away, I put off upgrading Monk's body piece and went for White Mage's Relic +1 weapon instead!

Now the real game begins for both Monk and White Mage in the Crystal Tower and Coil of Bahamut! Wish me luck!

Pay Day II

I made a thing!

Fully melded my third craft, Leatherworker, and finally upgraded my Monk's body piece from ilvl55 to ilvl70! I want to make the trousers next, but will wait until after the 2.1 patch in two weeks, as ilvl70 crafted recipes are getting cheaper! All right!

It even has a little satchel/ocarina of time on the back! Check out that butt, though.
